Monument Valley is a landscape defined by its silence and its permanence. But as twilight deepens into night, a different kind of architecture emerges—one drawn by the kinetic paths of travelers navigating the valley loop.

These photos are the result of a timed-exposure. Rather than freezing a single fraction of a second, these images stack seconds of time into a single frame. The glowing ribbons of red and white light trace the topography of the valley floor, illuminating the scale of the massive buttes in a way that standard daylight never could.

The technical challenge was to maintain the pinpoint sharpness of the sandstone textures while allowing the vehicle "ghost lights" to burn cleanly through the darkness. It is a look at a legendary landscape, captured in motion.
